Effective & Natural Alternatives for Better Sleep
How to sleep like a queen (or king):
First things first, none of the below products are necessary. By focusing on regulating your nervous system, balancing hormones, and improving gut health, the best sleep of your LIFE will come naturally. But like I mentioned in my previous sleep posts, I completely understand how much of a toll insomnia and other sleep related issues have on overall health, and sometimes a quick fix is necessary.
I also want to say again that although I do prefer the natural route, I am not anti-medication. I know the desperation that comes with not sleeping, which is why I was taking multiple sedatives (including benzos) at one point. But relying on drugs doesn’t allow the body to heal and function on its own, and it also just isn’t a way to live. Obviously speak with your doctor first, but I believe it’s worth trying the natural alternatives first before risking all of the negative side effects that we all know come with prescription drugs.

Calm Sleep Magnesium powder (make sure it’s the sleep one!)
Epsom salt baths
Legs up the wall
Red light and limiting blue light 1-2 hours before bed (I wear blue light blocking glasses)
Sunrise alarm clock
Mindfulness practices to calm the nervous system (yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling - anything to put the body into a state of rest & relaxation)
5 minutes standing on a vibration plate (or anything to boost lymphatic drainage)
Guided sleep meditations (anything by The Mindful Movement on YouTube - the best!!!)
