Homemade Grain Free Dog Treats
The pups go crazy for these!!
Just like humans, some pups don’t digest grains very well. But also just like humans, this is incredibly bio-individual and doesn’t automatically mean that every dog should eat grain free. As always, talk with a professional before trying anything you read online!
But if your dog does typically eat grain free, or you’re just sick of spending money on overpriced treats, this recipe is for you. I was gifted these cookie cutters and spatulas for Christmas, so I knew I had to try out a dog-friendly baked good. And if you don’t have any cookie cutters, just make them into cookies or any shape you desire.
These treats are so easy, so cheap, and dogs serious LOVE them. Plus, they’re made with all whole food ingredients so technically humans can eat them as well - but maybe save this one for just the animals? And the best part about baking for your pup, it’s okay if you slightly burn them because they won’t know the difference!
Make them for your pup!
RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup almond flour
1/4 cup creamy nut butter (I did peanut)
3 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
3 tbsp chicken bone broth
Directions:Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix until a thick dough forms.
Flatten dough out to desired thickness and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Or, roll into even sized balls and flatten the tops slightly (they don’t spread!).
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes - the thicker the dough, the more time they’ll need. Let cool completely before removing from the baking sheet and store in an airtight container.
