My Experience with NAET

I’ve been doing NAET since I was first diagnosed with lyme while also taking very strong antibiotics, because I’ve always believed in the power of both eastern and western medicine combined. Whether you believe in the science and effectiveness behind eastern and holistic healing modalities or not, you can’t deny the calming effects they have on the nervous system, which then tells the body it’s safe and able to heal - which could come in the form of prescription medication, or other more natural forms of medicine. Now, I am no longer taking antibiotics since they made me much worse off, but am still in the process of finishing NAET.

NAET is an all natural treatment used to fight chronic illness and various other concerns. Its goal is to bring the body back to homeostasis by sensitizing it to certain allergens and toxins. It’s used primarily to treat allergies, but also for addiction, anxiety, depression, and more. One allergen is treated at a time, and you have to “clear” that allergen before another can be added. Allergens can include foods, chemicals, vaccines, immunizations, environmental sensitivities, plants, animals, pathogens, and so much more. It’s also shown to improve digestive disorders and other related symptoms such as uncomfortable and painful bloating and indigestion, since those are signs that the body has a low tolerance for certain foods and compounds and the NAET works to build immunity towards those allergens.

The process and treatment itself uses a combination of research from both eastern and western medicine by using the following:

  • Takes western medicine research and knowledge about the brain, cranial nerves, and nervous system to understand how to work with the energy of the body and the specific distribution of nerves to benefit certain organ systems and tissues

  • Takes eastern medicine practices, specifically Chinese medicine, through the use of acupuncture to remove energy blockages and allow for better flow in the body

  • Also uses the science of kinesiology to compare weaknesses in the body by measuring the strength of certain muscles when exposed to certain allergens.

  • Incorporates chiropractic medicine by detecting blockages in specific nerve energy pathways, and obstructing those points to increase energy flow in the body

I’m still only about halfway done with clearing the basic allergens, so I can’t really share the total effectiveness that I’ve experienced until I finish. But I know many people, including friends and family members, who have gone through the process and swear by it. My allergies with mast cell activation are a lot more complex, which is why I’ve “detoxed” pretty hard after some of the treatments, but overall I can say that it’s helped tremendously with re-regulating my nervous system and has kept my body in a much more calm and restful state than it was before starting - which in my opinion is KEY for healing any illness. On the side of allergies, I will honestly say that I’m still experiencing mast cell activation flares. They’ve gotten much more manageable in recent weeks, before they were absolutely horrible and painful flares happening on the daily, which I credit to other healing modalities that I’ve incorporated within the last month. But again, I’m still not finished with the treatment so I can’t speak on its effectiveness for that.

If you’re looking for different avenues to treat mast cell activation, lyme, digestive disorders, anxiety, or really any other chronic issue, this may be something worth trying for yourself!
